It was so good to be back at the market Saturday!

I missed you guys.

I have a very exciting announcement to make…

Violet is going to have a little kitchen on Wilton Way E8 very soon. It will be our factory and HQ. I will let you know more details as we iron them out. The last few weeks have been full of exciting DIY and we have dragged old friends in from far and wide to lend a hand. Banker by day, painter and decorator by night, our dear friend Aidan dusted off his brushes this weekend and helped Damian crash it out. Our old San Francisco friend Peter McKnight took a break from building football pitches to tidy up our back garden. It looks like Tuscany out there! Another good friend, local restauranteur Henry Dimbleby of delicious Leon fame even walked a tray of hot soup and toast down to the boys. Such community spirit!

Amazing cakes – really enjoying the teeny weeny cupcakes the best. I’ll tell everyone about them! x

  2. Matthew says:

    Best…cakes…ever – mmmmmm

  3. Val J says:

Have I come to the right place to wax lyrical about the ginger cake? It is quite the match for my mother’s ginger cake, and that’s an accolade. I don’t think she has made a ginger cake since the 60s, so eating a slice was like going back in time…

  4. Violet says:

Val J – love that the cake inspires such lyrical waxings. The best compliments are always those which compare my cakes to those baked by one’s mother x

    Matthew – Thanks! How nice!

Peeps – great, spread the word. thinking I should have named the mini cupcakes “teeny weeny cupcakes” instead. that’s just too cute.

  5. mmmmmh thank god you’re back. i was getting withdrawal symptoms. your chocolate flourless cake is seriously naughty.

Will your new place being selling cupcakes during the week? It’s so hard to wait until Saturdays…

  7. Violet says:

YES! We are going to be making cakes 4 days a week to start out with and hopefully when we get planning permission we can open up shop every day. We will be selling a few things to make your own delicious cakes at home too. So the best ingredients that we have sourced over the years all available in one little shop. Organic flour, sugar, vanilla beans, cake decorations, and a few other surprises…

  8. Lindsay says:

Yay! So glad you are opening up a shop! Good luck, it sounds so exciting!

  9. Thanks for the great post! You have a new fan.
